Disney Challenge: The Little Mermaid (Under the Sea)

I did this mani before, about two years ago, and I can say it looks so much better this time!! The original idea came from a ProfessionalDQ video tutorial, but since the video seems to have gone the way of the Dodo I took some liberties and put my own spin on it. :)

Watercolor Effect

I got so much interest in my Fox and the Hound nails (as well as the background for these nails) that I decided to share a pic of just the background.

It’s a nearly watercolor effect created with saran wrap. I started with a base of two coats of white and used saran wrap to dab on blue, mint, purple, pink, and yellow. Let the white dry completely, but do the saran wrap dabbing all in one sitting so the colors blend a little. You may need to go back with the blue (I did) or one of the other colors if they get a bit lost in the blend.
